Mary Zoe Allee Scholarship 1998
The Wyoming Council of the Blind will award scholarships to blind and visually imnpaired students from the state of Wyoming in memory of thos members of its organization, now deceased, whose dedication and commitment have enhances the lives of all they have touched: Mary Zoe Allee, Chairman of the North East Wyoming Chapter of the Wyoming Council of the Blind and Board of Directors of the Wyoming Council of the Blind; and Mable Fowler, Board of Directors of the Wyoming Council of the Blind
To qualify for these scholarships, the applicant must:
1. Be a legal resident of the state of Wyoming.
2. Be legally blind or visually impaired.
3. Be enrolled in an academic or vocational/technical training at the post-graduate level. This includes:
A. Entering freshmen in academic programs.
B. Undergraduates (sophomores, juniors or seniors) in academic programs.
C. Graduate students or students pursuing an associate degree from a community college
One scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be presented at the annual 2007 state convention. Scholarship winners are required to be present at the convention.
The postmark deadline for scholarships this year is May 1st, 2008 with the
decision on the recipient to be made no later than June 9th. The
scholarships will be awarded at the 2008 state convention in Casper on
June 14th. The committee will review applications and make the decision no later than June 9th.
Completed applications must be typewritten. Handwritten applications will not be accepted. Applications submitted in any format other than print will not be considered.

Documents which must be submitted
along with this application include:
1. Autobiographical sketch: No more than two typewritten pages containing information about you. Tell us about your goals, strengths, weaknesses, hobbies, honors, achievements, etc. Be sure to list the field of study you have chosen, and the reason why you have chosen it.
2. One letter of recommendation from a current or recent instructor.
3. Certified transcripts from the school you are presently attending or most recently attended. Entering freshmen and sophomores, please include high school transcripts; graduate students, please include undergraduate transcripts.
4. Proof of acceptance from a post-secondary or post-graduate school. Entering and transferring students must submit a notice or letter from an Admissions Office stating that you have been accepted or are under consideration for admission. Students continuing in the same school attended during the previous year do not need this document.
5. Certification of visual status by an ophthalmologist, optometrist or physician.
